This year I was granted the incredible opportunity to pursue my elective post- graduate training at the division of Otolaryngology, University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver. Our residents have gone on to practice in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The training program is more than 30 years old and graduates one resident each year. My training in otolaryngology is based at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, Jamaica. Through the Harry Barnes scholarship, I was afforded the opportunity to attend the conference and the associated meetings. The meeting featured lectures and seminars delivered by otolaryngology residents and consultants from across the world.
